Electricians do much more in the 21st century than put wires behind walls.  Today, highly trained electricians have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do anything from residential to industrial work, in specialties as diverse as power plant construction, solar photovoltaic, and data-communication systems.  Electricians can be found installing the distribution and transmission lines that move power from power plant to businesses and homes to installing circuits and equipment for low voltage systems, such as phones and computer networks.
